At Channel 4, the research and insight team works very closely with the programming commissioners to help them understand our audience – their lifestyle, their attitudes and their motivations. We have never limited ourselves to simply looking at the ratings, which is why we believe commissioning editors at Channel 4 are closer to our viewers than any other media organisation.
Every month we produce a monthly consumers trends newsletter which looks at some of the emerging trends and fads from around the world, with a particular focus on consumer's lifestyles and emerging technologies. From giant pillow fights to virtual computer keyboards, Foursight draws on interesting insights from key trend spotters as well as bespoke Channel 4 research.
