The Film4 Director's Cut Awards are in partnership with Campaign. This is the launch year of the awards and we have
been overwhelmed with support from the advertising and film industry.
The Film4 Director's Cut Awards have been designed to reward ads which borrow from the values of film; to celebrate ads which take the time to tell powerful and engaging stories that engage the viewer with the brand, rather than interrupting them with commercial messages.
As we move towards an era of 'engagement marketing', Film4 along with Campaign magazine believe there will be a renaissance in longer format TV ads with high quality filmic values. Ads which viewers will actively choose to watch... think Honda 'Cog' and Sony Bravia's recent 'Balls' and 'Paint'.
We're looking for ads which are miniature films in their own right.
The purpose of these awards is to help inspire a new generation of longer format ads – Ads that are 60 seconds or longer.
