This summer the doors to TV's most famous house open for one last time. The final selection of housemates will spend a summer in front of the cameras as the biggest television series of the past decade offers up its last dose of Big Brother to Channel 4.
True to form Big Brother will not be leaving the limelight quietly but will be creating an almighty ruckus as all the stops are pulled out for a summer of frenetic, fascinating and fun-filled television.
Both housemates and viewers should expect some surprises including new twists and turns to the existing format, rewarding the housemates with what will inevitably be some of the most memorable, challenging and revealing weeks of their lives.
Cocooned from public opinion and the world outside, ultimately it's the relationships the housemates build with each other that keep viewers hooked. No matter what Big Brother has in store, one thing that won't change is that of the power of the fans to change the direction of the show. Each eviction night it is their votes that count, deciding which housemates to discard, and who to save.
Finally, as one housemate emerges triumphant, the doors will close on one of the most ground breaking, compelling, controversial and downright entertaining chapters of British television history.
Commissioning Editor for Channel 4 David Williams said:
"This may be Big Brother's swan song on Channel 4, but I can promise that it will be one hell of a chorus. Every idea that we have wanted to do with the show has been brought to the table. This is our chance to pull out all of the stops and ensure that Big Brother is remembered as the entertaining TV juggernaut that it is. "
Creative Director Phil Edgar Jones adds:
"I have worked on Big Brother since the second series and every year it's thrown up new surprises, its capacity to surprise, delight, make you gasp and make you laugh never ceases to amaze me. One thing I've learned over the years is that no matter what Big Brother has planned something unexpected always happens.
He added "I am very excited by this year's mixed bag of housemates, and when they move into their brand new Big Brother house they need to be prepared for Big Brother to have a lot of fun with them."
Throughout the series E4 will continue to be the home of the ultimate fanzine shows Big Brother's Little Brother and Big Brother's Big Mouth, while fans can also keep up-to-date online with breaking news, and sneak a peak at the latest footage via the official website www.channel4.com/bigbrother.
